Abstract:
This is a study of the development of the law of belligerent occupation fron 1863 to 1914, as reflected in contemporary international agreements, military manuals, and literature of international law. Only the law applicable to occupation of enemy territory in war time, prior to the conclusion of an armistice, is discussed.
