Abstract:
The nature of conflict has changed and that has given rise to fresh challenges for the armed forces who implement the State directives, the governments who authorise the use of force, and other State as well as non-State actors involved in the process. For example, the ICRC has started a project on the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions that is called "Non-International Armed Conflict Plus" to address issues arising out of non-international armed conflicts. There is thus a need to keep abreast of the new challenges and the rules/conventions to meet them. The four sessions of the seminar , were followed up with interactive discussions, during which eminent and experienced Panelists, Chairmen and knowledgeable participants, articulated their views to examine the subject threadbare.
