Abstract:
Developing a cohesive definition for the Environmentally Displaced Person ("EDP") is the first step in devising a level of protection designed specifically to address the vulnerability of EDPs and establish legal responsability to protect these people. This note aims to synthesize a formal definition of the EDP by using the histories and protections of vulnerable populations, with particular focus on the refugee as a comparative framework.
